ABOUT OUR KITTENS & THEIR CARE
Our British Shorthair cats & British Longhair cats live and are brought up in our loving family home, with our children, dogs and other pets. We are besotted with them all and devote our time giving them a fun and varied life. We breed exclusive colours and our different colours can be found in our FAQ, British Coat Colours.
We have an enclosed large garden with trees and a water feature, giving our British Shorthair cats & British Longhair cats the best secure outdoor environment for them to roam during the day with access to an outdoor protected litter area. There is also a separated enclosure with pergola and tree branches for our British Shorthair kittens & British Longhair kittens to explore.
Our British Shorthair kittens & British Longhair kittens are raised separate from our other animals and have their own quarters until they are weaned. They benefit from a healthy diet of kitten biscuits, cooked fresh chicken, fish and mince.
We closely follow the British Shorthair cats & British Longhair cats breed standard and our desire is to select endearing kittens for showing with gentile temperament and adorning features. All our cats have each secured 1st above Champion level and kittens have consistent Champion titles within their genealogy.
The long-term health and well-being of our kittens are really important to us. Our British Shorthair cats & British Longhair cats lines are carefully selected for their quality and health, we look if parents have been HCM tested, with PKD-Negative, FIV/FeLV/HEARTWORM-Negative results. We carry out genetic disease tests and all our cats are PKD clear, they have 2 copies of the normal gene and will neither develop PKD, nor pass PKD to their offspring. Their PKD and HCM results are listed with the HCMFoundation.
We register our kittens with Official Pedigrees through our affiliation with The Fédération Internationale Féline (FIFe) & provide Transfer documentation. PKD results are provided for each kitten and they are microchipped. For the register we can also provide Certification of Entirety for boys, Parentage Verification and can offer DNA, Genetic Trait (colour) certification.
Through our Vet all kittens are fully vaccinated against feline enteritis (panleucopaenia) virus (FPV), feline calicivirus (FCV), feline leukaemia virus (FeLV) and for their gender confirmation.
We are selective about who we allow to purchase our kittens and are always willing to help and advise newbie parents, club registered show breeders and those who just can't resist another - so do share your stories with us!
To ensure the integrity of our British Shorthair & Longhair cats lines, we only release active / Show kittens to registered catteries that are affiliated with a recognised body and actively show their cats. Otherwise, our kittens are registered as pet only and are neutered/spayed and released at 16 weeks (4-4.5months old).
